Aurora, Colorado honors; Aurora awards; Colorado accolades

One of Colorado’s most innovative and honored cities, Aurora continues to reap in national honors as well as the recognitions presented to such Aurora attractions as Buckley Air Force Base and Anschutz Medical Campus. Below are a few of the honors bestowed upon Aurora.

• Forbes Magazine ranked Aurora the No. 9 Safest City in America with a population over 250,000 -2012
• Aurora ranked the No. 9 best city in Men’s Health magazine for “The 10 Best and Worst Cities for Men” -2012 
• Aurora ranked among the top 10 Winter Wonderlands for Retirement by U.S. News and World Report -2011
• University of Colorado Hospital ranked the No. 1 best hospital in Denver; Medical Center of Aurora ranked the No. 5 best hospital in Denver; and The Children’s Hospital ranked the No. 5 best children’s hospital in the United States by U.S. News and World Report’s Best Hospitals list -2011
• All America City Winner -2008
• Aurora named "50th Anniversary Sportstown USA" for the state of Colorado by Sports Illustrated -2004
