THINGS TO DO ALL MONTH LONG
The following will be open throughout April, making it easy to plan your laid-back adventures in Aurora.
CHECK OUT THE AURORA RESERVOIR
The month of April welcomes warmer temperatures. Soak up the sunshine on the white sand beaches at the Aurora Reservoir. While there is a small entrance fee, your pass is good all day. Rent paddleboards or kayaks and cruise around the water. Grab a bike from nearby Pedgeo Bikes Southlands and head out for an afternoon cruise around the paved trails. Visitors are welcome to pack their own food and drink and enjoy their covered patio tables. For kids with a sense of adventure, discover the on-site Senac Creek Nature Center. This admission-free center is filled with games and hands-on educational tools. Learn more about the reservoir on the City of Aurora’s website.
TRY THE NEWEST BEER FROM DRY DOCK
Visitors can now try a newly-released beer from Aurora’s own Dry Dock Brewing Company. The Hazy IPA was released to the public on April 8 and will be offered year-round in cans and on tap. Dry Dock’s newest beer is similar to their classic IPA; only it’s brewed in an East-Coast style meaning the beer is less transparent and will have a stronger citrus/sweet flavor. Head to their South Dock taproom to grab this new beer first.
PLAY A ROUND OF GOLF
With more than 300 days of sunshine annually, Aurora is a golfer’s paradise. While most courses are playable year-round, April brings the warmer temperatures that make golfing outdoors more enjoyable. Discover Aurora’s courses and choose your adventure. Here’s a full description of five courses to try in the city.
