William Smith School

Built in the Art Deco style, Aurora’s first high school was named after the founder of the Aurora Public Schools. William Smith was instrumental in the formation of School District No. 28 in 1885 and served as School Board Treasurer for 50 years – the longest term of any school board officer in Colorado.
