The newly opened Central Recreation Center in Aurora is filled with family-fun activities to keep everyone entertained for hours. With drop-in pricing ranging from $4-5, the Central Recreation Center is perfect for an afternoon or a not-s0-lazy Sunday. Complete with state-of-the-art fitness facilities, cooking classes, outdoor patios and more, discover in detail things to do below.
RACE DOWN A WATERSLIDE
As Aurora’s newest indoor aquatics facility, visitors can spend an afternoon splashing around. The facility includes an indoor wave pool – the first of its kind in Colorado! If you’re looking for something a little more relaxing, try the lazy river or step foot in the indoor hot tub. Kids of all ages can enjoy the water park. The zero-depth entry water area has interactive fountains, slides, and sprayers for younger kids. Older kids can race down an indoor/outdoor waterslide that’s as high-tech as they come. The first of its kind in North America, this smart slide has music and screens inside, and it even tracks your fastest time!
ESCAPE THE HIVE
This bee-themed escape room is unlike anything you’ve seen before. Prepare your family and friends to beat the clock on this truly unique activity. The Hive is an interactive escape room that challenges players to solve riddles and search for clues that will help them solve the master plan. This high-tech collaborative game is adaptive to your pace, making it easier to include children 10+ in the quest! Each game lasts 30 minutes, and you’ll never have the same experience twice.
DROP IN FOR A FITNESS CLASS OR WORKOUT
Don’t let your fitness routine fall behind. Drop-in to one of Central Recreation Center’s many professionally led and coached fitness classes. From core workouts and yoga classes to cardio spin and strength training, check out their online schedule to find a class that works for you. Looking for something to do on your own time? The fitness facility is filled with treadmills, stationary bikes, free weights, weight machines, and an indoor track. Visitors can even use the concert hiking stairs for a complete workout!
The Central Recreation Center is also a place for gathering. Enlist in a cooking class (for kids and adults) or reserve a multi-purpose room for larger groups. Learn more about pricing, hours, and offerings at Central Recreation Center online.
