Discover more about the ins and outs of Visit Aurora’s Partnership Program

June 05, 2019

Imagine hitting golf balls without ever stepping foot on the course. Discover a spin on the classic golf game and learn more about Visit Aurora’s growing partnership program.

Topgolf Centennial is a modern-day entertainment venue that has all the bells and whistles to keep even non-golfers occupied. Sales Account Manager, Ryan Bristol, recently offered us some Topgolf insights, info on their emerging group market as well as their take on the Visit Aurora Partnership Program. Outlined by Bristol, Topgolf blends the attractions and entertainment features visitors have come to love with a golf-centric venue. You can find over 100 climate-controlled bays, rooftop terrace for catching sunsets, a game hall filled with arcade games, and a sharable eats and beverage menu alongside designated meetings & events space.

However, Topgolf is more than an updated driving range. Here, visitors can hit balls at glowing targets and scores are calculated based on points, rather than strokes. Each ball is micro-chipped, so visitors can track the accuracy, distance, and speed of their shot. Visitors rent climate-controlled bays, which make hitting doable in a variety of weather. These personal bays offer a space to relax, order a round of cocktails or give visitors a home base as they explore the other on-site things to do.

Topgolf Centennial hits that sweet spot between golfers working on their swing, those who would rather watch the fun, and groups who’ve never picked up a club partly because the high-energy atmosphere combined with a no-stress game makes it approachable.

When designing off-sites, happy hour events, and meetings searching for something that appeals to nearly everyone attending is often the biggest hurdle. As Bristol explains, “Topgolf has the ultimate event experience for groups as small as 7 guests to over 1,000. With our meeting spaces and newly renovated terrace, complete with a retractable roof, we offer countless options for any social and corporate event.”

Making a memorable event starts with a venue. Topgolf Centennial’s corporate background offers a level of organization and professionalism expected when servicing groups. Between casual happy hours to day-long teambuilding activities, the staff at Topgolf can create a unique event that will provide Aurora visitors with lasting memories.

Since jumping on as partners with Visit Aurora in 2018, Bristol mentioned some of the partnership perks they’ve seen. “…from editorial coverage to digital event promotion, Visit Aurora has been key in our growth throughout the Aurora community,” said Bristol. “Being strong community partners is very important to Topgolf Centennial and to our brand as a whole. They continue to be a great asset to the community and Topgolf is a perfect fit in their partnership program,” continued Bristol.

“As a sustaining partner with Visit Aurora, Topgolf Centennial receives certain benefits including digital promotion, site-experiences, and more,” explained Director of Services, Jennifer Buckley. In this case, Topgolf Centennial has been utilized by Visit Aurora staff for private FAM tours and off-site locations. “One of our biggest benefits is that we’re community-focused,” explained Buckley. “Our bureau is committed to helping local businesses and attractions get the most for their membership by advertising their events, including them in our visitor’s guide, and increasing the visitor’s knowledge of their offerings.”

The newly launched Visit Aurora Savings Pass also gives official partners another avenue for recruiting visitors to their business. This online app provides visitors with coupons and deals for certain restaurants, attractions, coffee shops, and more. The Visit Aurora’s Savings Pass will be provided to hundreds of visitors each year, including families staying in Aurora for sports tournaments and convention attendees.

Visit Aurora’s partners also receive leads for clients looking for off-site venues and are offered the ability to promote their business through our complimentary services. Aside from hotels, attractions with venue space benefit highly from the partnership program. As Buckley explained, “meeting planners are constantly seeking new and exciting off-sites that can engage a variety of attendees, event spaces like Topgolf offer an array of activities while having amenities such as catering and private venue space that are top of mind for every meeting planner.”

“Visit Aurora has helped us promote every facet of our business and our partnership continues to strengthen. We view the team at Visit Aurora as a strong community partner,” said Bristol.
