Visit Aurora Looks Back at 2018

Discover what happened and what’s coming up next!

December 04, 2018

Throughout 2018, we booked more business than ever before thanks to new hotels, unique venues stepping into the limelight, and strengthened partnerships with key industry players. Here is what you need to know to start planning your upcoming meeting or event with us.

NATIONAL RECOGNITION
While it’s not easy to grab the spotlight, Aurora’s position as an emerging destination set precedence for success during 2018. Not only was Aurora, Colorado featured in multiple local, regional, and national trade publications, it was also named a Top 50 Destination in the United States in 2018 by Cvent. On the leisure side, Aurora, Colorado was also featured twice by Matador Network in travel blogs and places to discover.

NEW SPACES FOR MEETINGS & CONVENTIONS
Like much of Colorado, Aurora is engaged in new developments. Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center is now the largest hotel and convention center in Colorado, which brought 1,501 rooms and 485,000 sq. ft. of convention space to the market this year. In 2019, three select service hotels will also be joining our network of more than 65 hotels and 13,000 guest rooms already available in Aurora including Gaylord Rockies.

EXPANDED TEAM MEANS MORE GROUP SERVICES
Visit Aurora has expanded our team members from four to thirteen. Our team is focused on creating a customized experience for your group and we are available to meet with you to address your specific needs. We’ve introduced a new and improved destination services department to stay connected to you with every step of the way throughout your planning process. From pre-event promotion, registration staffing, volunteer support, site inspections, microsites, and more, our services team is made up of industry experts to help you discover all that Aurora has to offer.

CREATING LASTING COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
Community works best when we work together. With the introduction of the partnership team, we were able to launch a whole new program that engages large and small businesses, restaurants, and attractions. In doing so, we have established a network of community partners willing to go the extra mile to make a memorable impression for your meeting or convention.
