We’re stopping in Vietnam, Greece, and Australia
Here in Aurora, you can travel a world of cuisine without ever leaving the city! Here’s the second part of Ethnic Eateries series filled with traditional tasters and a whole lot of flavor.

We might be a little bias, but Golden Siagon is one of Aurora’s best Vietnamese restaurants. Their unique menu serves all the classic favorites you crave like seafood hot pot and outstanding pho, but also has a chicken curry and chow mien that is well received by all diners. You don’t become one of Aurora’s oldest Vietnamese restaurants without having amazing flavors, menu variety and top-notch service and Golden Siagon has the trifecta.

Some restaurants are just too tasty to be contained in a food truck. In 2013, 5280 Banh Mi and Grill began serving up French and Vietnamese flavors in the beloved banh mi sandwich. Fast-forward to 2017 and their new store in Aurora is just as popular as their mobile truck. Diners can enjoy noodle soups, Viet wings, spring rolls and of course the banh mi sandwich in spicy smoked pork, tofu and more.

This tucked away gyro restaurant is well-loved by locals at the adjacent Dry Dock Brewing Co. Gyros King specializes in, you guessed it, gyros! However, they’re so much more. This family-owned joint serves up tasty Greek and Mediterranean food filled with traditional flavor. Diners can enjoy falafel and seasoned chicken along with pita and baba ganoush. They’re not short in the dessert department either! We hear their baklava is pretty tasty!

Established nearly a decade ago, Athenian Restaurant is a go-to Greek dining experience by locals. Diners enjoy their authentic sit-down atmosphere coupled with hand-crafted pita bread. You can soak in the ambiance while enjoying entrees including kabobs, mixed gyros plates, and other classics like dolmas and lamb paired with veggies.

Look no further; we’ve found the Australian meat pies you’ve been craving. The Great Australian Bite serves classic recipes with a few twists! Diners rave about their made from scratch dinner pies and sausage rolls. We suggest opting for a traditional meat pie (or curry chicken) with a side of mushy green peas and mashed potatoes. While you’re at it, stick around for dessert. They have a small bakery selection with custard tarts and more!
