Celebrate Aurora's cultural diversity and creative minds during the first annual Colfax Canvas Mural Festival on Saturday, Aug 1, 2020, from 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Wander the streets of Colfax Avenue in the heart of the Aurora Cultural Arts District (ACAD) as nearly a dozen artists display their outdoor creations. Visitors and locals alike can participate in a driving tour or walking tour throughout the day. This event is free to attend and open to the public.
This event will take place outdoors only and will enforce strict social distancing regulations of 6ft of separation between parties and mask-wearing.
From Jul 27 through Jul 31, ten different artists will turn the ACAD buildings into profound murals. Local legends, including Detour, Dread, and Zehb One, will be joined by Hiero, Aaron Golbeck, Phero, Patrick Kane McGregor, Chad Bolsinger, and Casey Kawaguchi. Many of their works of art can be viewed in Downtown Denver, including in the RiNo district. Festival attendees are welcome to stop by between Monday and Friday to see the artists in action as they create their murals.
Keeping every attendee safe is the top priority. Participate in a driving tour between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM on Saturday, Aug 1, for a safe and accessible way to view each and every mural for a safe distance. For those looking for a more traditional experience, consider attending the walking tour from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM designed to feature live music and family-friendly activities.
Explore the first-ever Colfax Canvas Mural Festival by participating in outdoor games, activities, and authentic international dining. The murals will be placed in strategic areas, making viewing easier at a distance. The event's main stage will be in the parking lot of The People's Building (9995 E Colfax Ave.) and will serve as the location for all things (and all eats!).
These murals will be permanently located on the 9000 block of East Colfax, but you can explore the murals are surrounding East Colfax and the ACAD, which stretch from Dayton St. to Florence.
