Enjoy a modern-yet-timeless installation at Stanley Marketplace Nov. 21 through Jan. 5. Camp Christmas is a 10,000 sq. ft. installation and light show that gives visitors ample picture opportunities while celebrating holiday traditions old and new. This over-the-top extravaganza is the brainchild of artist and storyteller, Lonnie Hanzon. You can even catch Santa Claus there every Saturday afternoon, enjoy a beverage (or two) while wandering the exhibit, and buy group tickets so all your friends can enjoy. In addition to Camp Christmas, visitors can expect pop-up events, Santa sightings, holiday tree lightings, and other festive events inside Stanley Marketplace. Celebrate the First Christmas at Gaylord Rockies with multiple holiday-themed events. Starting Nov. 22 through Jan. 5, the resort will be transformed into a winter wonderland complete with a Mistletoe Village with seasonal eats and Build-A-Bear Workshop. Gaylord Rockies will also launch its first annual ICE! An event featuring Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Visitors can wander through the wintery attraction made of two million pounds of expertly carved ice sculptures. Also, purchase your tickets in advance for a performance by Cirque Dream Holidaze, an interesting and exciting holiday theatrical production with dozens of dancers and performers. Throughout the 45-days, visitors are welcome to stop by and enjoy holiday lights and more in the Grand Lodge.
Start the holiday season with the annual Zoo Lights hosted by Denver Zoo. This year's theme, Illuminated with Life, will surely be an incredible experience for the whole family. From the Festival of Lanterns to exciting animal demos, it is a must-see on the event list. Grab some kettle corn and hot chocolate and check out the beautiful light displays. ‘Tis the season for Santa photos at Town Center at Aurora. Spend the day getting all the presents on your list. Then round off the afternoon posing for a photo with Father Christmas himself. Bring the kids out to get that picture with Santa! Wings Over the Rockies is hosting Santa Claus himself on December 6. Enjoy some hot chocolate while the kids tell Santa what they want for the holidays. Visitors attending on Sunday, Dec. 8, can expect Santa to show up in style (helicopter arrival!). While regular admission pricing is required upon entry into Wings Over the Rockies, families, and visitors alike are encouraged to bring a toy to donate – admission pricing will be reduced.
Come out and enjoy some sounds of the season at this holiday concert. Located in the heart of the cultural arts district, the People’s Building offers community-focused events for the whole family. Aurora Symphony Orchestra will be performing holiday classics intended to bring joy, peace, and love to everyone. This family-friendly event is low-cost, tickets start at $5 for kids.
Head up to the mountains and enjoy Winter Park’s seasonal Fireworks and Family Fest. Gather at the base of the slopes by the bonfire for the best view of the fireworks and giveaways. Roast your own s’mores over the flames and dance to the music. This admission-free event is open to everyone; fireworks begin shortly after sundown.
Hang out at The Pond this winter season! The Pond, located in Southlands Lifestyle Center, is open throughout the holidays, including Christmas Eve. Visitors can rent skates on-site and enjoy the ice underneath the twinkling lights. While there is a small admission-fee, your pass is good all day. Perfect for families or shoppers looking for a break, The Pond is a seasonal tradition. Warm-up with a cup of hot chocolate or grab dinner at one of the nearby restaurants.
