Visit Aurora is proud to announce Lauren Cordova, Studio Manager at From the Hip Photo, as the winner of the quarterly Visit Aurora Far From Ordinary Award of Excellence.
Cordova was nominated by From the Hip Photo Co-Founder, Danny de Zayas, who shared Cordova’s dedication, attentive nature, and thoughtfulness towards clients, and the Aurora community made her an obvious choice for the award.
“Whether she’s talking to a local business owner, a neighborhood family, or someone producing an event in town, Lauren can be counted upon to make each interaction sincere and positive,” said de Zayas.
Known for her kind demeanor, Cordova is the first point of contact for current and future clients. She also plays a role in orchestrating charitable photoshoots for deserving community members. de Zayas recalls Cordova’s tireless efforts to coordinative photos for families living at Brent’s Place in Aurora, a transitional home from immunocompromised children receiving treatment at the Colorado Children’s Hospital.
“Brent’s place is wonderful…we’ve actually had a couple of families come here [our studio] to do shoots where we’ve donated senior portraits and family pictures,” said Cordova.
Cordova explained the best parts of her job, including her team at From the Hip Photo and daily interactions with clients that come through the door. “My team is the best part of my job. We’re a small team that’s more like a family – everybody is great; everybody pitches in and is honest and open,” explained Cordova. “I love talking to people, seeing families come in for shoots, and putting a name to the email,” she said.
“I do my job because I love it and enjoy coming here every day – but something like this is out of the ordinary, and it feels very rewarding and special. I feel very lucky to be a part of this,” said Cordova.
