Open now through January 2019
We’ve gone to the moon. We’ve sent rovers to Mars. What’s next for space travel? You can find out as you discover the “Above and Beyond Exhibition” at Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum for the ultimate interactive flight experience. This traveling aerospace exhibition, perfect for all ages, is included with general admission. Explore the hands-on activities that tell the story of space travel like never before. Here’s a little bit of what you can expect:
Flight technology has developed beyond our wildest dreams. Now’s your turn to become the engineer and pilot of your own supersonic jet. Choose the wings, tail, and even the paint color of a virtual jet. Test it out on the simulator course to see if you design and piloting skills are enough to achieve a sonic speed!
Climb aboard an elevator that shoots upwards towards the edge of the Earth. You’ll see a virtual representation of what space travel could look like in the future. Zoom past clouds and beyond the atmosphere to see the world from a whole new perspective.
We’ve all wondered what it would be like to fly. Ordinary birds, like geese, are known for their massive migrations and now you can join them. Step on-to the simulation pad and prepare to soar over rivers, lakes, and mountains to make it home.
The future of space travel depends on the knowledge of the past. Learn about historic space expeditions, including the Apollo Missions, in a walk-through exhibit. Interested in Colorado’s history in space? Discover a long list of Colorado-native astronauts, like John L. “Jack” Swigert, Colorado’s first Apollo Astronaut.
The Above and Beyond Exhibit highlights some of the world’s best and most innovative technologies through the ages. You can plan your visit to this one-of-kind exhibit at wingsmuseum.org.
