Old Saint Nick will be visiting Aurora a handful of times this month. This Saturday, Dec. 1, Santa will be picking up a paintbrush for a kid’s paint afternoon with The Paint Cellar starting at 9:00 AM. Stop the Aurora Municipal Center on Dec. 4, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM for a special visit from Mrs. Claus and Santa as you sip hot chocolate. This weekend through Dec. 6, make your way over to the Town Center at Aurora to tell Santa Claus himself what you're wishing for this Christmas. On Dec. 8, locals and visitors are welcome to skate with Santa from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be headed to Stanley Marketplace on Dec. 16 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM for pictures, storytime, and more with the Aurora Police Department.
Lace up your skates for an afternoon (or evening) at The Pond, located in Southlands. Open seven days a week 4:00 PM on weekdays and 11:00 AM on weekends, visitors are welcome to bring or rent skates at the door. Open to kids of all ages, The Pond is the perfect winter activity for the whole family to try. After hitting the ice, make a pit stop at one of Aurora’s hot chocolate hot spots to warm up. Try one (or a few) of our seasonal craft beers! There are plenty of holiday-themed events to choose from including Holiday Cookie Decorating at Peak to Peak Brewing Company and the Carol of Beers at Cheluna Brewing both happening on Dec. 16. While the Dry Dock Brewing Company Holiday Beer & Cookie Paring is sold out, visitors are welcome to stop by anytime this season for seasonal porters, stouts and other holiday flavors!
In classic fashion, the city of Aurora is hosting the annual Tree Lighting on Dec. 4 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Walk through their outdoor and indoor light displays, visit with friends, and see live reindeer. New this year to Aurora, Gaylord Rockies presents Light! At Gaylord Rockies. Opening Dec. 18, this spectacular interactive holiday experience immerses everyone in color, fanciful patterns, and amazing light as you walk through indoor and outdoor paths. This free event is open to the public and will offer a first-time look at Colorado’s largest resort and convention center.
Spread the holiday cheer through song and dance. Head over to Dry Dock Brewing Co. for the Ugly Sweater Swing Dance Party happening this Saturday, Dec. 1, from 5:30 to 9:30 PM. Enjoy free swing dance lessons at 7:00 PM and get your holiday groove going! Enjoy Stanley Marketplace with help from the Neighborhood Music Stapleton crew on Dec. 9 starting at 4:00 PM. Listen to vintage-inspired holiday music Dec. 16, 20, and 22 at Stanley Marketplace along with music from The Watsons a cappella group on Dec. 19.
