The 2018 Great American Beer Fest (otherwise known as GABF) was filled with 4,000+ beers and thousands of attendees. Four Aurora-based breweries competed in this year’s competition. While the festival is over, these breweries will be serving their competing beers all season long (or until their tapped!). Find out where you can try most of this year’s 30+ competing beers.

Dry Dock Brewing Co. is Aurora’s most decorated brewery and has quite the history of placing at GABF, securing their first award in 2008. They competed with 14 different beers including the Colorado Freedom Memorial Blonde, a crisp ale that debuted on Memorial Day. As fall quickly approaches, try their seasonal Docktoberfest on tap, a traditional German Marzen Lager or a Signature Series Double Pumpkin Porter.

What you can't miss: Lowrider Mexican Lager, La Bomba Belgian Blonde, Coco-Xoco Porter
Rooted in Mexican culture, Cheluna Brewing Co. brews beers with unique flavors that are hard to come by. Their bronze-winning beer, La Bomba, is a Belgian Blonde that bursting with flavor. Part of the Pro-Am Collaboration category, La Bomba Belgian Blonde is a team-up recipe between Cheluna Brewing Co. and local homebrewer, Chris Cardillo. It’s on tap now through the end of September!

Since 2014, Peak to Peak Tap & Brew has expanded in popularity but kept their neighborhood atmosphere. They entered five different beers, including Watermelon Blonde, a light and refreshing ale with fresh watermelon juice. Try their Fight Fire with Fire brew, a spiced green chile ale for a unique flavor combination on tap at their East Iliff location and their newest location at 9735 E Colfax.

What you can’t miss: Kosmonaut Kolsch, Retrograde Red Ale, Patriot Pale Ale
Veteran owned, Launch Pad Brewery is a favorite among locals and visitors. Known for their rocket-themed taproom, they entered six beer in GABF 2018. Notable brews include Peacekeeper Porter and Piggyback Rides, a New England IPA. You can try their Economic Espionage, a pale lager with a spicy finish, on tap!

What you can’t miss: Blake’s Brown and Creamy Peanut Butter Milk Stout
Two22 Brew is rooted in a socially conscious attitude. $2.22 of every $10 profit is donated to locally-based non-profits. This year, they’ve entered four beers in 2018 GABF, including an Irish Session and Watermelon Gose. Two22 Brew is known for their Dunk Your Donut Blonde Stout, a dessert beer with light, creamy hits of coffee and raspberry, which you can try on tap.

What you can’t miss: Colorado Buckeye, Lithium Sunset, Hive Minded
Located right next to Anschutz Medical Campus, Ursula Brewing Co. is so more than a local pub. In fact, they entered four different beers in 2018 GABF ranging from Brett Beer to Hazy IPA. You can try Ultimate Clarity IPA, a New England Style IPA with a “mimosa-like” flavor on tap now! Or try something sweeter, like the Colorado Buckeye, an Imperial Milk Stout with peanut butter and chocolate flavor notes.
