Aviation Merit Badge Program by Wings Over the Rockies
When: January 15th

Are you interested in learning more about flying a plane? This Aviation Merit Badge Class by Wings Over the Rockies could be for you! This is not a class where you thoroughly learn how to fly just yet, but you will learn the hows and whys of flight, tour the museum, and even get the chance to step into some simulators. Tickets are $15 each, and if you bring the required worksheet, you can earn your badge on the same day! Learn more here.

Can Bash at Dry Dock Brewing Co
When: January 22nd
Where: 2801 Tower Rd.

Celebrate National Beer Can Day (January 24) at Dry Dock Brewing Co. in Aurora! Enjoy your favorite brew and smash cans throughout the afternoon. No tickets are required, so grab your friends and say cheers to the weekend!

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration
WHEN: January 9th-17th
WHERE: Both in-person and online events

Aurora’s 36th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration is themed “Realizing the Dream.” Join the Aurora community for a week of in-person and virtual events to remember and celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. All events are free unless noted otherwise. Dontrell, Who Kissed the Sea at Fox Theater
When: January 28th - February 20th
WHERE: 9900 E Colfax Ave

Stay warm and cozy up at the Aurora Fox Theater this January! Dontrell, Who Kissed the Sea starts on January 28, and it tells the story of a young boy who believes it’s his destiny to journey into the Atlantic Ocean to find a lost ancestor. Buy tickets here.

Gaylord Rockies Winterfest
When: January 1st - 15th
Where: 6700 N Gaylord Rockies Blvd.

Storytime in Spanish at Tattered Cover Kids
WHERE: Stanley Marketplace

Tattered Cover Kids at Stanley Marketplace offers a Spanish-speaking storytime every third Sunday of the month! This is a fun, educational, and interactive event to bring together native speakers and maybe some kiddos that are still learning the language.

Ice Skating
WHERE: Southlands

The Pond at Southlands Shopping Center is still open throughout the whole month of January! Visitors can rent skates on-site and enjoy the ice underneath the twinkling lights. There is a small admission fee and remember to purchase tickets in advance.

See a Show at The Vintage Theater
WHERE: 1468 Dayton St.

See Cinderella and Fireflies throughout January at the Vintage Theatre in Aurora! Friendly for all ages, this makes a fabulous weekend or weekday activity for families and couples. Find all showtimes and tickets here. Please remember that proof of vaccination is required to enter the theater.

Take a Cooking Class at Create Kitchen And Bar
WHERE: Stanley Marketplace

Located in Stanley Marketplace, Create Kitchen And Bar offers a variety of cooking classes for adults and kids. If you’re looking to improve your cooking skills in 2022, grab your friends or family, and learn how to cook a gourmet new dish! They also run a cocktail bar for guests 21+
