“Say Something… Even If”
Speaker Amanda “Jo” Erven
Ethics in its simplest form, is knowing the difference between right and wrong and having the will and courage to act on it. We like to think of ourselves as being ethical, but the truth is, none of us are as ethical as we think we are. This session is meant to create greater awareness of what it means to adhere to a code of personal ethics, even if.
Amanda’s approach breaks down our various “blind spots” around ethics… money, peer pressure, group think… so we can begin to understand and face our rationalizations, and change our behavior... so we can each become an “everyday ethicist.”
You will gain an understanding of the "Big Me;" how society has changed and how has it likely changed the culture of our organizations.
Recognize that psychological research proves we are not as ethical as we think we are.
Discover how we often rationalize our behavior, what our blind spots are, and how you can start to anticipate and mitigate ethical problems.
Learn the characteristics of the "Everyday Ethicist", how to put the characteristics to work, and influence real culture change.
