Sounds of Southlands

Experience the vibrant energy of Aurora's summer nights at the Sounds of Southlands free concert series, held every Thursday from June 25th to August 13th, from 6 PM to 8 PM in Southlands Town Square. Global Fest 2025 in Aurora will showcase the rich diversity of our community with over 25 cultural performances, a Parade of Nations, global cuisine, and a vibrant marketplace featuring traditional fashion, arts, and handmade goods. Taking place on June 14th at the Aurora Municipal Center Great Lawn, this family-friendly event promises an unforgettable day of music, food, and cultural celebration from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Mosaic of Cultures: Aurora's Filipino Community

Discover the rich stories, traditions, and cultural contributions of Aurora’s Filipino community at the new exhibition, “Mosaic of Cultures: Aurora’s Filipino Community,” presented by the Aurora History Museum and the Aurora Office of International and Immigrant Affairs. Part of the ongoing “Mosaic of Cultures” series, this engaging exhibition highlights the voices and experiences of local Filipino residents through community-driven storytelling and collaboration. From vibrant festivals and traditional music to meaningful customs and heritage, visitors will gain a deeper appreciation for the cultural richness that continues to shape Aurora’s diverse identity.

Violet

VIOLET is a contemporary musical that follows a young woman’s transformative journey across the American South in search of healing, belonging, and self-acceptance. Set in the 1960s, the story centers on Violet, who travels by bus to seek a televangelist she believes can cure a facial scar, encountering unexpected friendships and challenges along the way.
