Docktoberfest Celebration

Wine Walk
When: Sept. 12
Where: Southlands Lifestyle Center | get directions

Spend an evening exploring Aurora’s main street during the Southlands Lifestyle Center’s Wine Walk event. There will be ten various tasting stations at local businesses and restaurants. Attendees will receive a souvenir wine glass and can enjoy on-site entertainment. Buy your tickets early; this event is popular!

Punkin Chunkin Colorado 2019

Enjoy the City of Aurora’s annual Punkin Chunkin festival this month. More than 25 teams compete to toss pumpkins furthest using human-made machines. Jazz Concert On Havana Street

Celebrate the last days of summer with an admission-free concert at Stampede located On Havana Street. This country-western music venue will be host to locally loved jazz band, Dotsero. Get there early to enjoy free appetizers and grab a seat. Reserve your spot on their website.

Elephant and kids at the Denver Zoo

Discover Wildlife
Who says there aren’t tigers in Colorado? Spend an afternoon exploring the Denver Zoo. Their animal family includes lions, elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, monkeys alongside interesting smaller mammals, reptiles, and fish. On September 18, grab friends for a 21+ event from 6:00 – 8:30 PM that gives visitors a deeper understanding of animal markings that are similar to tattoos on humans. Get tickets online.

Try Paddle Boarding

Warm weather isn’t gone yet! Enjoy the last days of summer by paddle boarding along the Cherry Creek reservoir. Check out the REI Boathouse, open throughout the last few days of September to rent stand-up paddle boards. If you want to explore more, the REI Boathouse also rents canoes, kayaks and Hydra 6-person paddle boards that everyone can enjoy. Cherry Creek State Park is an ideal place to explore Colorado’s natural terrain without venturing too far into the mountains.
