4th of July Spectacular

Where: Aurora Municipal Center

Enjoy a free, unforgettable Independence Day celebration with a dazzling fireworks show! Join the City of Aurora on the Great Lawn starting at 6:00 pm for tasty snacks, festive treats, and community. Then stick around for an incredible fireworks display at 9:30 pm. Come early to claim the perfect viewing spot, and before the sky lights up, soak in live music and delicious food with friends and family. Make lasting memories this July 4th with an evening full of fun, food, and patriotic excitement!

Summer Vibes - Sports Night

Get ready for Summer Vibes—a fun-filled evening designed just for teens and pre-teens ages 10 to 17! Enjoy an action-packed lineup of free activities, entertainment, and awesome prizes. Groove to live music from a DJ, challenge yourself on a thrilling mobile ropes course, and test your skills with a variety of sports-themed inflatable games. Bring your friends and experience a summer night full of energy, excitement, and memories in the making!

History Hike: Star K Ranch and the Wild Neighbors
When: July 19
Where: Star K Ranch

Explore the fascinating history of Star K Ranch and learn about the local plants and wildlife that make Aurora their home on this ADA-accessible hike. History Hikes take place monthly from May through October, offering adults a chance to discover Aurora’s past—from early sod houses to military history—while visiting significant sites around the city. Each 60–90 minute adventure provides an engaging way to connect with Aurora’s stories and natural beauty outdoors.

Painted Prairie Free Movie in the Park
When: July 26
Where: High Prairie Park
Movie: The Avengers (PG-13)

Painted Prairie invites you to a free Movie in the Park on Friday, July 26th at High Prairie Park’s Great Lawn. The film will start just after sunset, around 8:20 pm, but come early for pre-movie entertainment. Enjoy treats from Em’s Ice Cream and Three Lil’ Lemons, and don’t forget to bring your own chairs, blankets, and snacks. Please help keep the park clean and note that event details may change.

Arapahoe County Fair
When: July 24 - 27
Where: Arapahoe County Fairgrounds

Step into the excitement of the annual Arapahoe County Fair! From thrilling carnival rides, toe-tapping live music, and delicious fair foods that will tantalize your taste buds, indulge in a day filled with festival fun. Bring your friends and family to celebrate summer at the Arapahoe County Fair!

Day of Resilience
When: July 26
Where: Aurora Water Wise Reflection Garden

Celebrate community and resilience at the free, family-friendly Day of Resilience on Saturday, July 26. The event kicks off with morning yoga and music, followed by “The Hero’s Journey” 5K Run/Walk, and continues with yoga, garden tours, and the Reflection Garden on Tap festival featuring live music, wellness booths, food trucks, and chalk art until 3:00 PM. More details on 5K registration and beer tasting wristbands coming soon!

Havana Street Global Night Market 
When: July 26
Where: Leezakaya

The Havana Street Night Market transforms a local parking lot into a vibrant global village. The food lineup is a culinary world tour, featuring Korean BBQ, Mexican street tacos, African delicacies, and more. Beyond the bites, enjoy live music, dance performances, interactive games, and giveaways. It's a family-friendly event that captures the essence of Aurora's multicultural spirit.

Rebel Marketplace 
When: July 19th
Where: Del Mar Park

Rebel Marketplace is a community-driven sustainability market based in Del Mar Park. This urban farmers market offers fresh, locally grown produce, meats, dairy, and artisanal products sourced from within a six-mile radius! The market also features educational programs and a CSA voucher system to make healthy food accessible to all.

The following will be open throughout July, making it easy to plan your laid-back summer adventures in Aurora.

Southlands Farmer's Market
When: Every Saturday, May 10th - September 27th
Where: Southlands

Embrace the summer season with a trip to Southland’s Annual Farmer’s Market. Shop local with fresh produce, handmade artisan goods, and more!

Sounds of Southlands
When: July 3rd - August 14th
Where: Southlands

Southlands is back with Sounds of Southlands. Occurring every Thursday of the month, Sounds of Southlands is a fun event where you can sit back and enjoy local talent while enjoying the summer breeze. Bring your lawn chairs, grab some Fro Yo, and enjoy the jams on Town Square.

Water Activities

Soak up the sun on a sailboat or head out for paddleboard yoga at dusk. If you have your own kayak or canoe, check out Quincy Reservoir! Otherwise, the Aurora Reservoir has on-site paddleboard, canoe, and kayak rentals. Visitors can also use non-motorized boats on the water. If you’re looking for tubing or water skiing, head to Cherry Creek State Park. They have on-site paddleboard, kayak, canoe, and boat rentals. 

Biking

There’s no better way to experience the beauty of summer than by biking through Aurora's scenic trails and vibrant parks. From the winding paths at Cherry Creek State Park to the peaceful stretches of the High Line Canal Trail, Aurora offers a variety of routes perfect for cyclists of all skill levels.
