Building Community, Not Just Homes: Kristen Brantley on Aurora’s Growing Neighborhoods
Few people embody Aurora’s new-community spirit like Kristen Brantley, Broker & Employer Relationship Manager for Painted Prairie and Windler. She describes Painted Prairie as a “neo-traditional” neighborhood that celebrates diversity, in both people and design. “You’re not going to see a street full of the same homes,” she says. Parks are within walking distance of every resident, including the Greenway, a lively stretch with playgrounds, picnic spots, and bocce ball courts designed to spark neighborly connections.
Brantley lights up when talking about Windler, a new community built on the historic Wendler family homestead. Its centerpiece, 1881 Park, repurposes the family’s original silos into public art. “It’s a way to honor the past while creating something vibrant and new,” she says.
With events like Prairie Harvest Fest and the Aurora Borealis Festival, and creative touches like the Welcome Wagon mobile activation, Brantley’s mission is clear: Aurora’s neighborhoods are built for people who want to belong.
